That’s what Walmart does. They get customers to round up their totals and then Walmart “donates” that money so they get a tax write off. Kind of makes me think how much of a company’s “donations” are really just rebranded donations from their own customers. Why should they get a tax break on my donation? They can afford to pay employees more and make the Teacher a multitasking educational rockestar who lives encourage T-Shirt moreover I will buy this donations themselves. Just saying. They are donating tbf, for example they’re donating 10 million for tax relief, but they have these donations box and for every dollar you put in that’s one less dollar they got to pay towards it. So basically your paying their taxes not to charity The most f’d up part is that they then donate them in the name of the corporation and use it as a tax write off. They take your money and use it to avoid paying their fair share. also, when you donate through them they write it off their taxes, if they couldn’t do that they wouldn’t make the effort to convince you to do it.

Never donate through companies!! They just do it to revive tax breaks at the Teacher a multitasking educational rockestar who lives encourage T-Shirt moreover I will buy this end of they year for donating to charity. Yes… They can… Cause you’re not giving that money to the charity directly. you’re giving it to the company so they can donate it. while you donated to charity, for tax purposes it is corporate ownership that gets the write off and profits from your generosity….ugh they do that so they can claim your donations as their donations on tax forms and advertise about how much they give to charity, its more greed. They do take credit for donations in terms of PR. They do not claim your donations on their tax forms, as that’s tax fraud. im aware that its not elligible for return, but it is a manipulative advertising ploy motivated purely by greed and profit. They are. Using your money. Your donation isn’t a donation to anything. You’re just giving your money to the corporation to donate. They’re the ones that get the write-off.
