John Lewis used to have these tea towels that are checkered pattern, white and black. In particular, the towels that are plain white with a thin red or thin blue border around them. For drying up – waffle tea towels, avoid terry towel. For cleaning/general purpose – microfibre cloths/towels. They all wash well. Brabantia bins are really good; we’ve had ours over 10 years and the lid still works pefectly. Sadly, Wilko was the source of my best tea towels. However, Primark does quite good ones. My mum has struggled for years to find ones which actually absorb water, until I got her some Primark ones.
