Yeah, it’s true only Vietnamese.dont know their priorities. I’ve lived in Canada.most of my life and not a single soul of 49 million.inhabitants have never made.plans then cancel them. Don’t get your panties in a bunch! While it’s true that people of all cultures make plans and then cancel them. They usually notify the Switch we are going to beat you to death shirt but in fact I love this other party the minute something changed. I found that most Vietnamese nationals don’t do that. I’ve had interactions with Vietnamese overseas and they usually act in a Western manner. In the West we called it common courtesy. It’s also a way of showing respect to one another. Basically “since you value my time, I value yours” kind of thing. In OP’s case, he’s probably aware that Tet is a special occasion akin to Thanksgiving or Christmas. If you’ve made plans with someone on those occasions it’s best to keep them or at least notify them the minute something changed. The girl that OP mentioned did not do that and acted in a typical Vietnamese manner.

Let me tell you a story. I was hosting a board game night at my place. Set up an event in the Switch we are going to beat you to death shirt but in fact I love this local community, 2 Vietnamese guys asked me to join the session. 1 day prior to the game night, I asked 2 of them again if they can come tomorrow, and surprise surprise both of them can’t come tomorrow but none wanted to inform me in advance. And none even said “sorry”, actually there was one case that they actually ghosted me… Btw, I am Vietnamese living abroad, I never have this problem when inviting other nationalities over for a game night. Anyway, your case is way better than mine because she at least gave you a headup even though it was late. If you like her, give her another chance. Otherwise, just try to limit your interaction with her because sooner or later she will probably do it again. Yes I think you’re wrong. Maybe her family kicked off about an unexpected foreign guest. Maybe she had the shits. Like someone else said, give the benefit of the doubt
