I thought pens detected the Sunset Spongebob Window Poster Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this presence of starch, due to the fact that regular paper has it, but real money doesn’t? (it’s basically an iodine solution, that reacts to starch) Neutral third party here. I’m old school and usually pay in cash. Almost nowhere I’ve been to runs it with the light, only the pen. Maybe 1/20 places check with the light. 20s, 50s, 100s, doesn’t matter. Recipient could quickly hold the bill up and see a watermark portrait and security band, slip it through a magnetic counterfeit checker, dab it with a marker, or any combination of the above, and it would pass casual (“Keep that line moving or you’ll get another write-up!”) scrutiny. Problem with redesigning bills to make them harder to counterfeit is the old bills are still valid and can be counterfeited. Can businesses refuse older bills?

If anyone wonders why some currency (like Euros) use different sized bills with the higher denominations larger, well here’s one of the reasons. Yep, there are several advantages to using different sizes, dunno why it’s not already a standard with the USD. Someone actually sued the US federal government over it claiming that it was against the Disabilities Act. They won but since you can’t sue the government they said that they weren’t going to do anything about this, fuck you! Because it doesn’t stack nicely in the money clips y’all use (well some of you). In other parts of the world they still use coins so they have real wallets. The whole point of different colours is so you can see what notes you have looking down from the top. If they’re different heights as well, all the large notes will hide all the small notes. If I’m using cash throughout the day the cashier always hands me notes with the largest on the bottom and the smallest on the top, and that’s how they go in my wallet at the front. I don’t sort them because I can tell exactly what they are from the colouring on the edges. Congrats. Anyway you can literally tell from the height so I don’t see why you’re having such a problem that other parts of the world aren’t the same as yours. We barely carry cash in most of europe anymore anyway.
