Bingo. As someone who successfully paid off my loans, I’m all for cutting debt or at least zeroing out interest for others, but until the Suletta and miorine cute witches mobile suit gundam the witch from mercury adorable fanmade classic shirt besides I will buy this entire education system is regulated or drops the cost, this is a one-time fix to a systemic issue. Canceling student debt every administration just doesn’t make sense as a long-term fiscal policy. It’s like just changing your tires when your road is covered in broken glass. Sure, you’ll keep driving but it’s a temporary fix at best. I’m good. If they want to pass this bill so bad they can make it so that everyone benefits. Aka. The people who paid off their loans get a refund + interest @ the risk free rate. Otherwise they can shove this bill up their ass. You choose to get loans and you choose to sign the papers that dictate the terms. It is not my responsibility to pay off your bad decisions. Everyone I know who graduated with a meaningful degree had no issues whatsoever paying off their loans.

Why is it all-or-nothing? There have been dozens of proposals that would make both sides happy. If they dropped the Suletta and miorine cute witches mobile suit gundam the witch from mercury adorable fanmade classic shirt besides I will buy this interest to 0% and restructured every loan over 30 years, it would make a $100k loan about $275 per month…which would look really cheap after 10 years of inflation. I doubt anybody would call that a handout. I don’t get this student loan dept thing. It does not make sense to me at all the way I understand it. Do they just want to erase everyone’s student loans? What’s with the people that start university next year or the year after? Shouldn’t the discussion be about making education free for everyone in the first place instead of paying for those „few“ that are suffering from the current system?
