She didn’t start actually working a job until 25 (so, like, 3 years ago) and has been living with our parents since high-school. She got herself a minor criminal misdemeanor for shoplifting from Claire’s with her 15 year old friend (and is proud of her mugshot). She complained about being bored all the time because she had no money & her friends & us family had to work & had our own lives. She essentially equated guys to money, love, sex, a friend, support… up until this new guy. I think she was trying to find a reliable person to help guide her by dating a lot but all the guys just did not work out. The newest guy (4 years so far, engaged, and they finally moved out of our parent’s place into their first apartment) acts just like her; like, if a male version of her had been created, he would be it. They fit very nicely together & seem to actually make the other grow & mature & start improving their negative aspects of their lives. Their wedding is set for February next year so fingers crossed all goes well for her.
