“Now what does it really mean to be ‘hit by a train’ , huh? Aren’t we all hit by trains in this crazy railroad called life?” I’m no doctor but when you grab someone by the Stop all domestic violence rainbow cloud T-Shirt But I will love this FUCKING HEAD and use their head to shove them into train tracks, im gonna go ahead and label that as attempted murder. This poor woman is in critical condition still. I’m sure at this stage their concern is how difficult it will be to get a jury that hasn’t heard what happened. I really wonder how lawyers like that sleep at night. I understand that everyone has a right to legal representation and a fair trial, but on the other hand (particularly in this era of cameras being basically everywhere) I just don’t see how any person in possession of even a speck of human decency could bring themselves to defend a man like this, who so obviously committed such a heinous crime against an innocent woman for no fucking reason. This is why I could never be a defense lawyer, I guess.

A rigorous and thorough defense that leads to conviction is less likely to be overturned for inadequate counsel. The vast majority of defense lawyers want their clients in jail if they actually are guilty. They do their jobs well so that those people stay in prison. In those cases they bring themselves to defend these sorts by taking the Stop all domestic violence rainbow cloud T-Shirt But I will love this position it’s their job to force the State to follow its own rules and follow proper procedure – because it is. That’s what “fair trial” means, and without Defense holding the State (and their actors) accountable the Innocence Project has lots more work to do. Yes I heard a lawyer one time say that if they do not hold the police to doing things the right way they will immediately start doing things even worse so every case counts even the worst ones. It’s not just police, it’s everyone everywhere to some degree or another. If the public didn’t elect prosecutors, prosecutors would be easier to corrupt and less inclined to handle hard cases. If chain of custody weren’t strictly enforced, wonky lab results would be normal. The system only works via checks and balances, everyone holding everyone accountable.
