You’d be hard pressed to find a impartial jury who would convict with that knowledge because technically he didn’t commit a crime, he paid his lawyer who paid someone a settlement. 3rd The only argument is that it was paid out of campaign finances, which is true, however since he was paying for his lawyer, which is entirely allowed, they can probably hide behind that outright, if not, they can argue that it was out of his own pocket as he contributed a lot of his own money to the campaign. They can argue that despite what the money was tagged for campaign, if he only used the money he himself added, it’s still his money, just in a different pool.
