Something similar almost happened to me as a kid. My father American, my mother Korean. Mom left back to Korea and wanted everyone to move there as well. Korea made court orders including the supreme court order. We past the point this is a family issue and brush it off saying “wherever the child is, it’s ok as long as he’s happy”. We are not asking where the child should be. That part is already decided numerous times. We are in fact dealing with a question “is it ok to not enforce court orders related to protecting children?”
