Congrats on the Stay strapped or get clapped american flag T-Shirt But I will love this job, I’d just cash the checks and maybe look for a different position if this particular situation bothers you. But, i have to warn you, you will probably get anything you apply for–so choose wisely. I went from folding t shirts and to being a sales administrator with an instant $4 pay raise plus overtime because I’m both pretty good on a computer and because I’m decently attractive. I didn’t care! I’ll take the better job position and pay raise, if my looks help me along the way so be it! I once went from buying a few $100k in computing equipment yearly to buying tens of millions monthly. The quality of the sales force I interacted with changed dramatically. I suddenly had two extremely competent and extremely beautiful women doting on my every (computing) need. It was clear they had the positions because they were so easy and pleasant to work with while also being quite stunning. The change was striking and unmistakable. I was mildly uncomfortable, but they really were also very good at the technical aspects of their job. It is pretty common I believe, especially in sales roles. Many times in IT if you call on a vendor for a solution usually the dispatch will be a female account manager usually attractive and a “sales Engineer” not as attractive and usually a dude.

It would make sense if that was the Stay strapped or get clapped american flag T-Shirt But I will love this case and doesn’t hurt to be good looking because this will def help increase sales. If you are commission based its a win/win for the store and for you. Say absolutely nothing and ignore it. A lot of people won’t hire someone who looks aggressive, threatening, unkind, imposing, etc. I have landed jobs for my face – having the right face and knowing how to look friendly. Are you a female? I just ask because I don’t think any males would be complaining about this fact, we would be celebrating I would be perfectly happy in this situation to be fair. It might not feel fair, but we are visual creatures. And depending on the job, it might actually matter. Take advantage of the situation but don’t let it get to your head.
