Can someone tell me the Space 1999 Astronaut Shirt in addition I really love this importance of this? We all know he’s responsible, what does this 3rd party account change? And honestly admitting responsibility doesn’t sound like something Trump would do, unless maybe he was proud in that moment not understanding the seriousness of it. Not a lawyer but from what I see, the current prosecutors strategy is to try to see how far up the political chain of command the oath keeper’s sedition charges can travel. Right now, trump will probably say that he didn’t call the oath keeper’s or other seditious groups to the capital. If there is evidence that trump knew in advance that his actions would result in people like the oath keepers coming to the capital with a clear plan for sedition, it might demonstrate criminal intent and intention for the insurrection to occur, which would implicate trump more closely to the sedition.

Bragging is something trump would do. Admitting accountability for things that don’t reflect positivity on him is definitely something he wouldn’t do. Accounts of his emotional state during the Space 1999 Astronaut Shirt in addition I really love this insurrection was of glee and awe. Literally does not matter, he will just claim he never said that, Fox News will back him up. On to the next outrage… Accountability is long dead for these rich white powerful assholes! God damn how I wish that would be proven wrong This would probably mean more if we actually heard Trump claim responsibility for what happened vs someone saying he did Unfortunately, McCarthy is likely to defend himself and Trump in two ways. First, by saying he made up that conversation at the time to make Trump seem reasonable while the country was still reeling from what happened. In the two weeks after the insurrection, McCarthy likely thought admitting responsibility was going to be good distancing and damage control while also cooling down investigations. But then he realized that Trump and the Republican base liked what almost happened that day, and that they would support anyone who kept at what they were there for. That’s why he and most Republicans went from shock and condemnation to simultaneously downplaying it and alleging conspiracy. That leads me to the second way he’ll defend himself, by saying he was still “emotional” from the insurrection and “didn’t have all the facts” about it when he said all that. He’ll pat himself on the back for having a knee-jerk reaction to the insurrection by condemning it, but then turn around and say it wasn’t all that bad, because now he thinks they were right to storm the Capitol. Now that it’s part of the Republican narrative that Democrats cheat in every election they win, McCarthy is going to distance himself from this prior distancing, but ride the line between encouraging the people that supported it and claiming no responsibility whatsoever.
