When I was about 10, I had a try at baking bread (with mum’s help). At tea time, dad carefully buttered a slice, took a bite, and fell off his chair pretending to be dead. I laughed. Mum was sobbing, because she thought he’d had a heart attack. So yeah, I think kids are fine with sick pranks. The last time Easter Sunday was on April 1st we did an egg hunt with no eggs for our two. They were 14 and 12 and could not be bothered but – to my mirth – 14 talked 12 into it on the basis that it wouldn’t take long and they’d have loads of chocolate at the end of it.
