Some fellow students were all about it, talking excitedly. I found it odd that “add multiplayer!” was a stretch goal, but whatever (I also didn’t know what ‘scope creep’ was at the time.) Today, I am now a professor in video game design and development, and this game still hasn’t been officially released. So, from the year the marketing of this game began, to today, I went from student to professor of the same subject. What I really don’t get is why the are building so much realism into the game. Which people hear and are like BUT THATS WHAT WE WANT?!?! Really you want to take 5 mins before every time you lift off to run a full system check before launching, oh and then you forgot to ask to launch, fine for you! That’s not fun, that’s work. Even EVE doesn’t push that level of realism and we already know it as spreadsheet simulator Not true, because not all of that money has been spent on development. You are basically looking at sales not cost Instead of launching a core game and then working on “expansions” they keep working on so much shit so they can drag out the launch. My friend convinced me to get a starter pack for SC because “even though the multiplayer isn’t ready and resets constantly you’ll get the single player story, Squadron 42, when it comes out soon!”

The problem with Star Citizen is, it’s an endless pit of feature creep, the first thing you learn to avoid when you start in the gaming industry. The CORE GAMEPLAY is broken and unstable af and all they focus on are irrelevant additions over additions. I mean I like the overall vision of the game, and I have no problem with ambitious projects that take their time. But Chris Robers has completely lost it with this one. They should just axe half the features, fix up the friking core gameplay and release a finished singleplayer game, use it for marketing and THEN focus on the multiplayer part with all the shenanigans and PO. The singleplayer allegedly was “almost finished” like 5 years ago lmao. Bullsh*t.
