Accelerators and chiplets are the future of mobile computing and they are offering massive gains in battery life and performance. The main blocker against phones lasting long is not hardware failure (not even battery failure), it’s manufacturers stopping OS security updates (not major feature updates, those are a different issue). Without security updates you’re walking around with a gigantic target on your back. Your unsecured phone holds ALL your private data and ALL the keys to critically important parts of your life, including your money and everything else. Using a phone that’s not up to date with security updates is simply crazy.

What pisses me off immensely about review bros who live off of corporate ad revenue and call themselves journalists, is not a single one ever begins their reviews discussing this security aspect that is important above anything else.
