& the Some of us grew up listening to Rory Gallagher the cool ones still do shirt But I will love this mysterious ways approach, “god is all knowing, all powerful, & all loving, so him creating a world where a child can die a terrible cooking death while his “followers” were praying 100 feet away is just his ‘grand plan’. I’ve always loved the part from a King Of The Hill episode, where Luanne is saying grace before dinner, and she says something like, “I know you have a plan, but if you could just change your plan”… I don’t know what happened here but babies left in cars are often tragic accidents where sleep deprived parents deviating from their normal routine forget about the quiet baby facing away from them in the car seat in the back. My wife and I had to take our dog to a vet specialist an hour away days after she was attacked by another dog. Left our two year old with my family, took our 1 month old with us. We’d been sitting in the waiting room for 10 minutes when something just clicked in my head and I got up and sprinted outside, dropping my phone mid-conversation with a co-worker. She hadn’t made a peep the entire drive, we had our pup on our minds and completely forgot she was with us. She was fine, still sleeping. It does happen though.

I was absolutely terrified of this happening when our kid was a baby since I’m prone to going on autopilot. The simple but effective solution I found was a suction cup mirror on the Some of us grew up listening to Rory Gallagher the cool ones still do shirt But I will love this windshield pointed at the baby seat at all times. Never forgot her once. That’s a good idea. I just never ever thought I could forget she was back there- like a lot of people on this thread- until I did. We beat ourselves up pretty bad over it. Also, in some churches, there is usually a nursery/childcare available. Maybe each of the parents thought that the other parent was the one who took the child to the nursery. I’m not trying to minimize this in any way, it is still a horrible tragedy that will be on the parents’ heads for the rest of their lives. I’m just trying to offer an explanation as to why they didn’t notice their child was not with them for 3 hours. This kind of stuff is absolutely gonna start happening more with Roe overturned, especially in red states. People dropping their kids in lakes or the ocean, losing them on hiking trails, using this method, poisonings, gun ‘accidents’, etc.
