When folks talk about work-life balance, definitely prioritize the Small dark one merch cartoon shirt but in fact I love this life part. That said, moving without a solid plan of how you are going to pay the bills is irresponsible. Start applying for any open positions in your field now, but also look at other job openings that would allow you to at least pay for housing and food until something more ideal comes up. I made the mistake of moving for a 40% pay raise to a place with a super low cost of living. I mean I’d le making money hand over fist, my SO was able to get a union job, and the cost of living was dirt cheap. I was able to rent a nicer, newer, house in a better neighborhood for the same price. Only one decent bar, everyone was a Trumper, the local university was such garbage that people coming out of it couldn’t keep up when they came to work with me. I think it depends on the income difference. You may be happier in that environment, but how will you be happy with a very low income? If you’re already unhappy or burnt out from your current circumstances, you may become unhappy where you go next.

That saying “wherever you go, there you are” is appropriate here. If you’re running from depression, depression will follow you to your new location. Not irresponsible at all! That’s part of life and being an adult! Your parents are entitled to their opinion but you are ultimately responsible for your happiness. If its within reason and you can pay all your bills and it makes you happy, do it! You’re so young, go live your life how you want. As long as you’re not burning major bridges to live your dreams then make it happen. I didn’t do a major move like that, I’ve lived in Portland for over a decade, but I did get to see many migrate over here simply because they wanted to. I never met someone who regretted it. BUT: do your homework first. Research/evaluate where you will rent/live and work. Find the Small dark one merch cartoon shirt but in fact I love this best job possible. Save as much money as you can before you move
