This is really great but it just makes me sad as an autistic person that the Skeleton Packin’ Heat Give Em Hell shirt Besides,I will do this only way he’s actually able to do this is by masking. Which is to completely deny your authentic autistic traits and replace them with neurotypical ones because they’re more socially acceptable.(like stimming which is typically hand flapping, this is trained out of you as a bad behavior although it’s a good normal feeling for autistics to stim) And it does take a conscious mental effort to mask(females understand this better) It is not easy so being a doctor on top of having to mask all day long? This man has to be brilliant. But the therapy he describes starts out as ABA therapy and to me ABA is like dog training couples with gay conversion therapy. I’m autistic so are 3 of my children and I never would do ABA. My children are all brilliant and talented in their own unique ways and I’m so glad they got to determine who they are and not by masking to fit in with peers. My middle son does it still, but I don’t think he will ever stop. My oldest and youngest don’t mask at all. Neither do I.

Not to stereotype, but I feel like I would enjoy a doctor with autism. If they are anything like my nephew, they won’t stop until they had diagnosed the problem and not just shooed me away with, “you have gas” like some of my previous doctors did. Not to sound weird, but this is really encouraging for me. I’m so happy that you’re doing this and succeeding. I’m an autistic person who wants to be a doctor, and I’ve been stressing lately over how I’ll do the job with my difficulties. It’s great to see that we can succeed even with our differences. Congratulations!!!! That’s hard thing to do! And, thinking of my nephew on the spectrum, I really like your orange tie. (He was obsessed with orange for years). Thanks for sharing!
