Shitty but not quite as bad as the a-hole that tethered a starving dog just out of reach of food and called it “art.” It’s an interesting message, very neat but fish are not props. It’s a living creature and deserves at least some respect.

Then I would feel awful when it actually happened It is estimated that between 3-5% of people are sociopaths. They were going to run into one of them eventually. There are a lot of ways they could’ve handled this project in a way that wouldn’t end in fish death. In high school, our student body officers would do a unity skit in the assembly on the first day of school where they would assemble a gross smoothie one ingredient at a time and then drink. Each officer in turn, starting at treasurer, then secretary, Vice President, and then president would bring something gross, add it to the blender, blend, drink and then it went to the next person. One year, someone brought a live goldfish, blended it in front of the entire student body and drank the resulting smoothie. Since our hs rivals were the Jackson Hole broncs, someone brought horse meat once. As far as i know, the tradition is ongoing although it may be prone to a little more supervision and approval. Our high school was rural, and our town had very little to do, so when snow melted off and spring elections came around, our school went hard. Water slides. Barbecues in the parking lot. Airplanes flying over dropping candy and election propaganda. It was really fun for a few days.
