I’m less mad about the Shrek face can’t today i’m swamped shirt but in fact I love this costume day than I am about the artwork. While I was deployed in the navy we could pay into a party fund for the right to wear non-uniform shirts, hats, or grow a beard. When the ship returned to port we would have a barbecue or something with that money. I guess the fall festival OP is talking about can be considered in the same way. The artwork however, that is absolutely disgraceful. That teaches the child that their creation doesn’t belong to them. And it forces the parents to pay regardless of what they think of it. There are many ways the school can raise money besides ransoming the kids artwork. Good grief, I was mildly infuriated at my kids’ school announcing that they were ‘thrilled’ about a new cookie dough fundraiser this year… Yours takes the cake! In my high school it was 5$ to dress up and a group of jocks all dressed up as banana s. With big sombreros. “We are Mexican bananas

A Mexican decent student also dressed that way with the Shrek face can’t today i’m swamped shirt but in fact I love this sombrero and clothes over said banana. He went all out tho. He out preformed most people that day. School principal : not bad. It’s impressive. I can’t get any of them on anything at the moment. I mean they made him the leader of the bananas. Calling this child labor kinda takes away from actual child labor. This is 100% first world problems territory and is going to result in your child going to a festival. My kids went to private school before this year and they would “accept” a $1 “donation” on Fridays for any kid who wanted to dress down in regular clothing and not their uniform. They said it went to a family in need, but never shared the amount donated, family info (even just basic info like family of 4 with children). Maybe it went to a family, but I’ve always been skeptical.
