Bit of a disagree there – AAF’s music video isn’t nearly as theatric as Jackson’s, but it appears to have taken a lot of coordination and is, arguably, an artistic time capsule for the era. I Will Always Love You is my favorite example, I had no idea it was a Dolly Parton song until relatively recently The Dolly version is incredible too though. Also, my favorite Hendrix solo by far. It’s just so… Elegant. Hendrix’s All Along the Watchtower is just this sort of cosmic confluence of two geniuses into something almost supernatural. Dylan is a brilliant poet and lyricist, Hendrix a genius guitarest, but my god that track, it’s one of my all-time favorites. It just does something. I don’t know how to explain it. It’s like, Hendrix captured the soul of that song in a way that Dylan only half-captured it in his own song, and somehow expressed it to the fullest extent that you knew Dylan had wanted to.
