But I wear it around people. I’d say I’m wearing it a lot less but depending on the area I’m in and if someone requests I wear one around them then I wear one. Currently yes. Husband tested positive 4 days ago, I literally need to be at work this week. Otherwise I’d be in the quarantine room with him. If I’m outside in an area where I can have at least a 6-8ft bubble then I won’t wear one. When fuckers start closing in on me I don’t fucking care if I look like I’m overreacting, I don’t want to smell your breath or eat your COVID. I love going to concerts without a being as big of a problem. Been to 6 since November, not a single cold, sniffle, or shiver. I wear a n95/double mask it, in case anyone is wondering. There is still a pandemic. Masks are the first line of defense against Covid. Covid continues to surprise by how dangerous and far-reaching its long-term effects can be. I know many immunocompromised people. Wearing a mask is a small thing, a kindness, done in consideration of others, even if you don’t understand the science. (I didn’t say ‘believe in the science’ because we’re not talking about Santa Claus here.) I’ve been sick for like a week, and when I had to leave my house after 2 days i was like: isn’t this exactly the reason those were invented/enforced? And so yes, I’m wearing a mask when going out If I go anywhere and the workers are wearing masks, I’m wearing a mask. They have to be there. I don’t. It’s common courtesy.

Yep vaxxed and boosted but i work predominantly in a retirement community and despite my numerous mislead clientele i need to maintain this work for a while. AKA i don’t want to kill my customers. My daughter has CP and one fun side effect is being susceptible to fever-induced seizures. You know what’s a real great way to spike a high fever, especially if you’re a toddler who can’t get the vax? Covid, flu, rsv, a real nasty cold… A lot of things that are all mitigated by wearing a mask. I know masks are more effective at stopping spread by the person wearing it, but maybe if others see me wearing mine, they’ll be more likely to wear theirs and not get my kid sick and send us to the ER at 6am like we had to two weeks ago… Yes! I am an elementary teacher and masks are no longer required at my school. However, there are about 5 or 6 kids in my class who have continued to wear them. I don’t know the reasoning, maybe a sick or elderly family member, maybe they themselves are immune-compromised. My thought process is that they are making themselves less comfortable (at 9 years old) for either they’re safety, or a loved ones safety (or possibly a loved ones peace-of-mind). Either way, I want to stand in solidarity with them. I also think it cuts down on them feeling singled out. If their teacher is still doing it, there’s nothing weird about them still doing it!
