Again, given his musculature, it’s hard to imagine that he wasn’t juicing, but the only upheld test was post-professional career. Ben Johnson isn’t the brightest bulb in the bunch. He later did an ad for Cheetah energy drink where he says the tag line “I cheetah all the time” Like Jesus. Sure, it may be a meta joke, but in Canada, it comes across as being in real bad taste as his losing the gold metal was a pretty big deal in Canada. Once saw him at a pool hall in the late 90s. Remember there was a bit of hushed murmurs of “dude, that’s Ben Johnson”. No one had any interest in approaching him, asking for an autograph, etc. he was just that guy that got caught doping My mom had metastatic breast cancer a few years after that. She got really run down and needed a blood transfusion. She was off like a bandit after it…cleaning, shopping, all over the place. My brother kept saying she must have gotten Carl Lewis’ blood. Good laugh during a tough time.
