I’m still not sure. When I was 8, my mom asked me if she looked fat in her dress. I was reading or playing or something when she asked me this. I looked up, and I said, “I don’t know… if you’re fat, you’ll look fat.” I didn’t know it was a trick question and that I was supposed to lie. She got so upset over it, and she has resented me since ever since. I try to be honest with my wife. She’s been a bit fat and thin at different times. Usually I can tell what’s flattering and what isn’t. It’s all relative anyway. Body dysmorphia causes you to see your body differently than other people see it. Just because she thinks she looks fat doesn’t mean she actually does. Same goes with someone who thinks they look good but actually don’t lol I think it’s because you took it too literally. You expect other people to not be offended when they ask for something you deem you should be blunt about. They don’t see it that way because there’s a subtext that’s not obvious to you about being nice. My solution is to ask them beforehand if they want you to say that specific thing or if they would rather have you focus on how the dress fits or lifting them up or something.

I have had this problem, it’s okay OP. I feel the Santa Shakespeare Celebrity Christmas shirt moreover I love this same. If people don’t tell me they literally want something a certain way, I will expect what I’m saying to be the form of support they want. I would say something I say to myself when I’m trying clothes out: why, do you feel a bit uncomfortable in it? Looking “a bit fat” and wearing a dress that is a bit tight go hand in hand, so it would be a different way to persuade your date to pick another option. I would just say a particular piece of clothing doesn’t fit well. I’m not fat by any means,but certain cuts don’t work with my body and are just uncomfortable. That’s value neutral. If someone is determined to rope you into criticizing their body they will probably accomplish that but I’d focus on the clothes and fit rather than the body. no. always no. there is no other answer. her belly fat could be flopping out, you never ever answer anything other than “no.”. yes, they will say “you’re lying.”. you don’t say a fucking word other than no.
