Its weird isn’t it? Why do some people feel the Santa Grinch And Dog Merry Grinchmas Nurse shirt and I will buy this need to purposefully make their partner feel uncomfortable? Hell, why do we excuse the fact that men feel anxious about answering that question due to the possible negative repercussions? Asking your partner a question shouldn’t result in anxiety and fear for them. That smells like abuse on the part of the one asking the question. I avoid words like “fat” entirely and act confused as to why the dress looks like that. “Why is it hanging like that? Don’t the designers know how people are shaped?” It validates their feelings about how the garment looks but doesn’t validate anything negative about their body. Because I can’t speak for everyone, but I hate when I dislike how I look in clothes, and everyone just tells me I look good

Did it make her look fat? That’s the Santa Grinch And Dog Merry Grinchmas Nurse shirt and I will buy this first question. If it does, you lie to her, because she most likely doesn’t want the truth. She is fishing for comfort/compliments. It just is what it is. I’ll show you how to win these scenarios for the future while still being honest. This is very easy to do in a scenario like you’ve described where there are two options, one is good, and the other is not. This was a trap, not a malicious one per se, but she felt unattractive in Dress A and gave you an opportunity to validate and it didn’t happen. There’s a way to give honest feedback while still being tactful, IMO you should never use a “description word” about a person even if they are saying it first. This ___ makes you look fat/ugly/skinny/old/young/tall/short/etc. It is a minefield, people can be hypersensitive about their appearance.

1. Length is measured from the highest point on the collar down to the bottom hem. 2. Width is measured across the body of the shirt under the armpits, one way. 3. Sleeves are measured from center back to hem.
