Most BE SWEs should stay far away from this stuff because they lack the Same Old Energy Rise Up A Flame Come Join The Game shirt Besides,I will do this technical knowledge. Just stick to coding. please. A good portion since we are understaffed. It’s nice to be exposed to all this stuff to some degree, just that much more I’m familiar with. Lots of Kubernetes stuff too I’ve been in positions where it’s part of the job. Once there’s a solid infra-as-code solution in place its pretty straightforward. Looks like it’s not very common but I’ve found myself needing to do a lot of stuff that people call devops. Even in cases where our Kafka cluster was managed by a data team I had to know enough to troubleshoot issues. Same for databases. I’ve created a few mongo DBs. And I’ve asked the platform team to create a new Kafka stream, and asked for the config details so I could connect to it. Also I set up a lot of stuff in terraform, and created Jenkins pipelines. I’m nominally a backend engineer.

This is a government detention facility, where the government takes full responsibility for the care of those detained. It wasn’t like the providers were stumped with what was wrong, they were told by the parents exactly what underlying conditions there were. They even provided documentation and medication. The medical staff refused to listen. The most basic thing they could do was call an ambulance and send the child to a hospital, when she was barely breathing for over a day, and didn’t do that.
