My, generally high school educated, blue collar friends think I’m the Salvador Perez Salute Venezuelan-American professional baseball catcher T-Shirt moreover I love this stupidest person alive and 85% of the time they have no idea what I tried to say or am doing. Not because they’re stupid but because we approach problems and “what ifs” entirely differently. There was a trend for practical challenge shows in the UK for a while. Junkyard wars, scrapheap challenge etc. typically they would pit a practical hands on crew (bikers, farmers, etc.) against a more highbrow group (professors, naval architects etc.) There is no simple answer to this question. Researchers have been trying to figure this out for years, but there are so many factors that play into it that you won’t get a straight up this is why answer. Education is just one piece of the puzzle. another is upbringing. Did you have parents that encouraged curiosity, asking questions and learning things on your own? Part the answer is just natural talent or how one looks at a problem. There are people with genius level intellect that are complete failures in life and there are people that can’t pass a simple test, but yet have a knowledge and background that provides them a level of intelligence….beyond common sense. Add in street smarts and common sense. Are you western educated, or eastern educated to very different methods. How well read is someone? I hope this gives you a general idea of just some of the factors that play a part in answering the question.

You can see this phenomenon in college students fresh out of university. A bunch of them have a lot of book knowledge but almost no smarts to utilize that knowledge. I’ve met uneducated rednecks smarter than a LOT of college graduates. Speed and intelligence are not the Salvador Perez Salute Venezuelan-American professional baseball catcher T-Shirt moreover I love this same thing. I work with a lot of salesmen who like to “work at a different speed than everyone else”, and they say it like it’s a great thing, but they’re also the ones who fuck up the most. well, quality counts for something… if you’re doing simple tasks, overanalyzing everything just slows you down, but if you’re doing complex ones, underanalyzing just makes for shoddy work done quickly Honors at any place is basically a joke lol. Just means you have a slightly above average IQ or you cared more about your academic score than the average person.
