My guess is the ventilation inside the earpads is nil. There are spongy cushions inside the headphones just beneath the earpads and as the foam is porous it is natural for it to retain moisture (same as how towels and other types of sponges work) and the worst thing – that moisture kept accumulating for three months and finally “maybe” was the cause that they died. This is just a wild guess and as close as I can conclude. The thing is I was always 200% sure not to let any liquid near my electronic devices which I used mostly during my job (laptops – headphones – keyboard – mouse – mobile phone – hard drive – an extension and chargers) so there’s no way that there was an external water ingress.
