The comparison is nuclear to fossil fuels. Until Germany is 100% forever sustained on 0 co2 producing energy the Ronald Acuna It’s Over Venezuelan Baseball MLB Atlanta Braves T-Shirt in contrast I will get this comparison will always be on what “other” energy production is best. Nuclear is better in every way than fossil fuels. Calling biomass renewable, being renewables often used to refer to mostly actually clean energy sources, is deceiving since it actually produces CO2 and particulate, and it accounts for 11%. Also if you don’t burn biomass waste, what do you think is going to happen? It rots. Do you know what happens when it rots? It produces CO2. But you don’t get any energy out of it. How is that better? Obviously we shouldn’t cut down forrests to burn for electricity (or even heat, I’m personally very much against wood stoves and think we should all switch to heat pumps), but using waste biomass for electricity production is absolutely no issue.

You’re still depending on the Ronald Acuna It’s Over Venezuelan Baseball MLB Atlanta Braves T-Shirt in contrast I will get this daily variations on the bordering countries one of which is France and its nuclear energy To be fair to Germany, this is not just a seasonal thing. Thanks to it’s insistence on coal instead of nuclear the planet is getting warmer every year. Now imagine what they could have accomplished if they shut down coal plants rather than nuclear ones. Let’s not forget brown coal is one of the worst, the most polluting forms of coal energy. Thanks anti-nuclear movement for setting Germany back at least 4 years. Even now, fossil fuel use is higher than its lowest point in 2019. What ive learned from this sub is that every random reddit user who doesnt like nuclear energy is apparently a world class ecconomist, environmental scientist, politician, mathematician and climate activist all rolled into one but are also unable to understand that you can have both nuclear and renewable energy If you think getting rid of nuclear is the way to save the planet you’re not very well informed. There is a reason almost everyone with a science degree is pro-nuclear power, at least for the short to medium term. Probably should just listen to us nerds rather than going with attention seeking hippies and conformation bias. Germany will continue to bow to the Petrodollar as long as they’re importing a significant portion of their energy from any source. The EU either needs a stronger more robust energy grid between member states or Germany needs to resolve the issue domestically.
