The possible overturning is disheartening, but more devastating is their reasoning. By saying the Ron Desantis 2024 Republican Elephant Classic T-Shirt in addition I really love this Constitution cannot be interpreted to provide protections it does not explicitly provide, the Supreme Court can next use this same rationale to undo the legality of same-sex marriages. It could say that trans rights have no basis in Constitutional law. It could roll back protections for any group that Congress has not explicitly protected with the shield of law. I can only hope the overturning of Roe v Wade leads to more women running for Congress and the eventual creation of a law that codifies the right to legal abortions across all counties, states, and territories of the US. I hope that, but tbh, I don’t think this is even possible until the current older generations pass away and allow progressive minds to permeate the government and finally give people rights rather than do everything in their power to strip rights from people. Considering Americans can’t get motivated to save their democracy after one political party all but endorses a terrorist attack on your national capital while kowtowing to the bumbling incoherent wishes of a man who doesn’t understand the basic ideas of governance and worshiping him like a god, honestly you reap what you sow. People warned that this would happen. That the right would stop at nothing to turn back the clock on women’s rights.

F#*% Republicunts, Conservatives, and anyone else who supports treating women like we don’t derserve the Ron Desantis 2024 Republican Elephant Classic T-Shirt in addition I really love this right to choose what happens to our bodies. The federal government has had 50 years to pass federal legislation about abortion. Democrats currently hold both houses and the presidency. It’s outrageous, and leaves room for Republicans to come next for rights to contraception, gay marriage, even interracial marriage. Democrats need to use this as a wedge issue and make the public aware that voting Republican could mean losing contraception. Not only is it horrifying for women, but the reasoning specifically says that two landmark cases for gay rights were based on the same “faulty” reasoning as the abortion ruling. My love life could potentially become a criminal act again.
