I think definitely if your older and single ; I mean in my city most my mates have moved on or settled down , it’s the Romeo Santos Singer Shirt but in fact I love this culture here nobody has any time for making new friends after childhood and uni. I think the type of city London is. It’s prob a bit easier to make a few mates and meet other like-minded ppl even when ur middle age. So true. I joined local book clubs and just went out to everything I could when I was first single and I made so many new friends. You have to put yourself out there a bit but then you realise there are lots of people in the same boat I. London Most meet through existing friendship groups, work networks, or are simply strangers who met via Spareroom etc. Yes, it might be a struggle and yes, it’ll be tougher because you’ve got a pet but if you have plenty of advance notice keep your ear to the ground in terms of work colleagues/friends who may have rooms becoming available. It’s going to be a lot easier for you if you can snap one up that way. I live in a three floor house with 8 rooms. Sometimes it’s awesome, then sometimes it’s shit. Mostly it’s harmonious and lovely. But men children will always exist, as will pervs and freaks. Honestly luck – spare room and a lot of house visits. Sometimes it went wrong and other times right. It’s pretty rare to find anyone in there 30s so go for late 20s and those who have a similar lifestyle to you! So if you’re an office worker etc. A few years back 2 people left and were replaced by 2 young girls for Eastern Europe and new to the UK. They work in restaurants and wanted to be up all night making SO much noise. I hated it!! It was like looking after children. They who would leave a mess, use my stuff and not buy toilet roll. So yeah it’s luck…

There is plenty of people flatsharing on their 30s, specially now. And those are the Romeo Santos Singer Shirt but in fact I love this flats I would look and would recommend to OP too, because the lifestyle tends to be more similar. Personally I’ve always found it SO hard to find people in their 30s flat sharing. On spare room I could never find any and out of all my friends I am the only one. I traveled with my best friend and soon realized she is not my ideal roommate, but we are still best friends. What I’m trying to say, you never know until you live with them. Good luck! For sure you will have limited options while moving with pets. Spareroom has filters to find flats accepting pets. That’s the best way I could think of Living with my partner now, but at the time I did a buddy up on Spareroom, i.e. I looked for flatmates first, and then we looked for a place together. It worked quite well. We also had people coming and going in the flat, but the ones who stayed chose the incoming one, so we always had a good vibe. Same thing happened to me actually, me and my boyfriend split after moving to London and I had to share an apartment. I heard about a room through friends of friends, and the people I went to share a flat with became some of my closest friends until today. They’re family to me. It was a mix of word of mouth and luck. I had a similar situation a number of years ago, I signed up for a Spareroom event where you went to a venue and basically met a load of potential flat mates. It was a little bit like speed dating tbh, but effective and definitely helped match me with compatible people. I don’t know if these events still exist, but if they do I’d recommend going to one.
