Don’t stop eating foods you like just because they aren’t salads or unseasoned chicken. I have a 6 pack and good muscle development and I eat pizza and taquitos and donuts and I’m never giving them up lol It’s discipline, not drive. This is coming from someone who has had battles with discipline so not lecturing. Drive can fade, discipline is non negotiable. I run and listen to loud raucous music – my favorite kind for exercise. That and I admittedly get a bit of a high after sweating up a storm. I tried for years to get into an exercise routine, but couldn’t stick with one. But then, at one point, I stopped trying to do a “big” exercise routine. I decided on the Rod Wave Come See Me shirt so you should to go to store and get this policy, “it doesn’t have to be the best workout of your life; it just has to happen.” I started very small and manageable — a total of 30 “knee” push-ups, some curls with little 2-pound hand-weights that belonged to my wife, 8-minute crunch videos, hour-long walks at a maintainable pace, etc. By doing this, I was able to work out six days a week, and slowly build on those workouts, adding weight, time, and speed to the workout as I went. That, combined with a “grazing” diet of low sugar, low carbs, minimal meat, a lot of unprocessed fruits and vegetables, and no liquid calories, saw me lose about 60 pounds in around 7-8 months. That was about 14-and-a-half years ago, and I have maintained the workout routine, the diet, and the weight ever since. At this point, it pretty much takes care of itself, because it’s simply my lifestyle, and my metabolism has changed. I really do believe the key is to start with something small, non-threatening, and manageable — a workout that doesn’t make you say, when it’s over, “I never want to do that again!” And also, find the type of exercise that suits you. Maybe it’s lifting weights, maybe it’s swimming, maybe it’s some particular sport, maybe it’s just walking (walking is one of the most underrated forms of exercise). There are no wrong answers, as long as it’s something that agrees with you and doesn’t do any physical harm. I think having one day a week with no obligation to exercise and no dietary restrictions is also important — probably best if it’s always the same day of the week (mine is Sunday, without fail), so you don’t have to worry about “laziness creep.”
Rod Wave Come See Me shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt
I found something about the Rod Wave Come See Me shirt so you should to go to store and get this gym that I liked – lifting (power lifting, bro splits, strength training), and I stuck with it. I’m a busy working mom now that my kiddo is older, and some days I’m not super consistent, but I try not to beat myself up about it and just get back on the horse when I can. I also supplement with yoga, which I re-discovered my love for during the pandemic when I couldn’t go to the gym anymore (the Down Dog app saves my life and sanity). It’s been great to incorporate yoga into my therapy, too. It becomes habit. There are good habits and bad ones. As for the boredom, plug in a podcast or music and get thru it. The rewards are considerable. I’ve been working out consistently for like 8ish years (primarily weightlifting), but started off really, really overweight with absolutely no desire to go to the gym outside of a burning sense of self hatred. In my experience, the first few months is purely based on drive and pursuing your goals, combined with a huge amount of discipline. But once you get past the first few months, the process itself becomes fun. It’s the idea that over time, someone who likes to walk to a destination will never walk as far as someone who likes the walk itself. I started off hating going to the gym, but now it’s become a part of how I see myself, and I have to force myself to take rest days – you just have to stick through the first section of pain, but then your perspective really changes.
