I got to see them and the Rod Wave Beautiful Mind Shirt also I will do this Violent Femmes at the Illinois State Fair waaay back when. Was so much fun. It caused a minor stir when the Femmes sang ” why cant i get, just one F###”. It was a different time. TY for this post, i needed a smile right now. My tastes have changed and widened and whatnot(and some of their lyrics leave me a little cold)… but they were the first. The first cassette tape I ever bought was in 1982. It was a brand new copy of the B-52s Mesopotamia. Still one of my favorite albums. Of the dozens of shows Ive seen across any genre you can name, that was one for the ages. Man was that fun. When they played Rock Lobster that place went absolutely nuts. Oh my lord dream lineup. Violent Femmes also opened for The Pixies one time and I’d have loved to see all of them on the same billing. Dance this mess around is my personal favorite. Saw them live at Alpine Valley in about 1981 and it was the closest to a Dead concert in terms of positive vibes. Saw them about five years ago at Riot Fest in Chicago. Didn’t have high expectations but they put on a great show and the crowd is a show of its own. Would 100% recommend… Alpine Valley. There’s a venue I haven’t thought about in many year. So many good memories though. Caught Phish there a couple times. Vegan tacos were delish.

Rod Wave Beautiful Mind Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

I remember one time at alpine mike gordon made some rounds around the Rod Wave Beautiful Mind Shirt also I will do this parking lot on his golf cart before the show /enjoying the pre show shenanigans in the lots. Such a great place, getting there too in summer especially when all the corns fields are higher makes for a surreal getaway Wigs! The band name is a reference to people calling beehive hairdos “B-52’s” like the nose cone of a bomber aircraft Damn as a child of the 80s I can’t believe I went decades not knowing this. I also loved the plane as a kid and had models of it. I feel like you just helped 2 neurons connect and now they’re happy They were actively trying to cop the style of the 1960s though right? Like they were a throwback band the same way a lot of bands like Little Dragon were trying to sound like 80s bands.
