Kinda like crossing a scary bridge if you’re afraid of heights. The bridge is the Rockin to a different tune Autism Awareness T-Shirt But I will love this stressful situation. It might seem too daunting to think about crossing the bridge and all the possible outcomes. But if you take your time and just focus on one step–that’s much easier to process. Once you take a step, repeat. Don’t think about the whole situation, just that next step. That one day. A bite-sized unit. Over time, you wind up making it across the bridge and can look back and feel proud that you made it through. On the other hand, I’m probably not fully aware of all the ways I cope with stress. I think we often do so unconsciously–and usually those methods work but might not be healthy. I know one of my subconscious tendencies is to distract & ignore indefinitely. It works with the immediate stress but sucks when whatever you’re ignoring becomes a bigger issue in the future. You’re usually better off in the long run if you address the problem head-on. Basically procrastination is a subconscious way I cope. It just happens.. A day or two of total sloth and tv binging. I used to feel so guilty, but it can be such a reset! I often feel much better the day after.

Time in nature, being on a mountain, feeling the Rockin to a different tune Autism Awareness T-Shirt But I will love this sunshine, swimming in a river, smelling eucalyptus leaves, barefoot bushwalking. I am proud of these, they found me and are healthy. Very rare but very shitty…downing a few drinks too quickly if I’m really having a hard time and planning to pick a fight with my partner to get everything out. I don’t normally drink but all 5f2 of me trashed and yelling is apparently cute enough not to make my partner hate me. These both come before a true spiral where nothing is considered coping or healthy and truly poor choices will be made. Survival has always been human thing. If not for anything else.. Prosper out of spite. Learn what it required to survive at bare minimum and how to make it happen in nigh any circumstances.
