I struggled too when I first graduated and had no intern experience at all. I’m not smart enough to get pass most FANGG level coding quizzes and honestly didn’t care too. I recommend it to everyone I meet in CS, it was like 10 times more useful than what I learned in school and it gave me a ton of confidence. I’m currently working on a project which I think I can monetize and transform into a company, but I’m not sure how big the Rockin’ The Spanish Teacher Life Shirt besides I will buy this market is for it. Thank you for sharing your experience! I was going to say that’s what I’m doing now I’m thinking we should all join together in a remote company and hire ourselves! Does your resume focus around a particular skill set? Non-FAANG employers often focus on specific skills. Candidates with those skills are prioritized ahead of people who are good at the assessments. Yah I would totally be down, I’ve applied to stuff like Anduril l3harris I’ll look into some others, any suggestions? I believe Lockheed Martin is doing so, as for Raytheon mmm maybe not so, tho I can check and see. Northrop seems to be the only one I don’t really know about Yeah, there are definitely web roles in defense. I couldn’t tell you which stack(s) in particular they tend to use because I’m on the embedded side but the jobs are out there.

I think that is one of your bigger problems. There are likely a lot fewer C++ jobs than other programming languages. FAANG have a high opinion of their employees and potential employees. They want smart people, and they think languages are easy to learn. Average (most companies) look for experience with specific languages. I’ve not worked at FAANG, but have a friend who does. We’ve compared notes on how interviewing is handled/viewed, and it’s pretty different. You’re probably also being missed by a lot of third party recruiters except the Rockin’ The Spanish Teacher Life Shirt besides I will buy this ones looking for your specific skillset. You might want to target finance companies, as they are definitely a space that looks for a lot of C++ devs. They tend to want people with financial/domain knowledge, but hopefully your C++ skills are enough to make up for that.
