To answer your other question on how you can tailor your resume to startups, I would really try to showcase projects you’ve done which involved a deep level of concentration and effort. Startups love to see engineers who are in the Retro Slim Reaper Devonta Smith Shirt but in fact I love this job because they are “nerdy” and have a genuine interest in engineering rather than viewing it as just a way to make a lot of money.
