We have a homeless shelter but they close their doors at 7pm. Cops come try to deal with it every now and then but they just scatter like roaches and then come back to harass the women dental hygienists they are camped behind. Homeless are typically mentally not capable of taking care of themselves and continually make poor decisions because of this. They will choose to sleep on the Street because if they go to a shelter they have to surrender drugs, alcohol and weapons (even a small knife). They prefer to keep those items vs sleeping under a roof. Sad but true at least in my area.
