My recollection of the Recycle Use Nre Think There Is No Planet B Earth Day Environmental T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this last decade is that National rarely ran a surplus (John Key’s quote about landing a 747 on a pin, iirc). Meanwhile Labour was criticized for running a surplus after campaigning on the entire public sector being underfunded. Fuck that tubby piece of shit Orr. Years of sluggish malaise and now we all have to suffer for his mistakes. Worst RB governor we’ve ever had. Yeah we just needed you in charge, the ultra complex job of running the countries finances would have been in good hands Inflation is due to the war in Ukraine and supply chain disruptions which isn’t going to stop anytime soon not excessive monetary policy, something central banks cannot control. RBNZ is just gonna crash the economy and you’re all still gonna have high inflation just without jobs in a recession lmao

That’s my fear here – if the Recycle Use Nre Think There Is No Planet B Earth Day Environmental T-Shirt but I will buy this shirt and I will love this reduced demand that RBNZ is creating isn’t enough to drop inflation (due to it being supply chain issues that keep persisting), then what?? They only have one answer to the problem. The reserve bank is like chimp trained to hit one button, regardless of circumstances. Exactly, politicians can alleviate some of the pressure via fiscal policy but they’re being worse than useless as always preferring to shift blame to the central bank Who can I send my extra mortgage bill to for payment. I have done nothing to warrant paying more for the same amount of money. Why should we have to pay so much more so someone can feel better amount a spreadsheet Jobs have to go for inflation to come down. Given there still seems to be plenty of demand for workers in some areas…what jobs or industries would people be happy to see go to bring inflation under control? I would be happy to see a ban on Sunday trading (with a few exceptions for essential services) like Germany has which would cut a few jobs down but likely not upset that many workers as Sundays are hard days to staff. I would be happy to see malls reduce to just one late night of shopping a week too. More automation is an obvious part. Maybe we need to go back to car less days OCR goes up, banks put mortgage Interst’s rates up, people with mortgages spend less, people who own investment properties put the rent up and the tenants spend less. People have less money so they buy less and inflation cools. I feel this is a very cumbersome way to do this. Would raising and lowering the GST take depending on inflation spread it more evenly across the board. Seeing everyone pays GST. But make it fixed. So Inflation at 4% equals GST @ 15%. Inflation at 6% raises GST to 16%. And no GST on food like in OZ.
