Not “racist” at all, but it’s language that has been used to marginalize Black people – “Black” is fine but “Big and Black” has some charged history behind it. The customer refused to just identify him by race and instead used every possible descriptor like ” 6’0″ tall, 200 lbs, brown eyes, black hair” like – no shit that’s both of them. I mean… I don’t think you’re necessarily a malicious person, but you have to see why they were shocked. It was a pretty forthright and inappropriate way to identify somebody. Is there another big guy? If not than black is unnecessary and can seem weird. If there is another big guy who isn’t black.
