They literally think it’s not their job. In fact that’s part of the delivery job is putting up with things like that and waiting for the food (less than 10 mins, let’s not get ridicules) that’s part of the job. There’s also the number of people who stare at their GPS on their phone like they’re playing where’s Waldo to try and find places instead of looking at addresses and having some common sense. Where I used to work Dashers were the fucking worst. They’d barge in and interrupt me when I’m clearly talking to a customer and shove a phone in my face and just say door dash repeatedly. Like they were incapable of using words. This wasn’t all of them of course but it was a large enough minority to really piss people off. Like with everything you notice the frustrating minority a lot more than the pleasant majority. I feel like that’s what’s happening here, as door dash grows you’re of course going to get more bad actors, and they will be noticed more.

I had to stop using them. Drivers weren’t rude, but there were too many scammers. Of my last ten orders, only 3 were delivered. We make less money as time goes on. I don’t get it i went from $20/hour in my local town, able to dash basically whenever i want, and able to dash for 3 hours at a time (and more if i wanted). now, i can only dash if im REALLY lucky, the only available scheduled shifts are 3 days out and only for 30 minutes, and if i am dashing i pull in $5 an hour, because the orders pay absolute shit and i will still only take the bare minimum of $2/mile. i was relying on doordash for money as i get my disability figured out, but because of how fucked up its been i havent been able to make Any money. When I signed up as a dasher, I had to go to a group meeting and sit through a presentation. Removing that hurdle opened the door for crackhead drivers, I’m guessing. It’s been 10 years since I started That being said, my uwu eats experience is generally more profitable per order I just do t get orders as frequently in my area as I do DD.
