Yes it’s because you are internal, but have you brought up that you saw the Real Women Love Football Smart Women Love The Steelers Diamond Heart 2023 shirt Furthermore, I will do this range? And you’d like to come in range, even if towards the bottom? This comment might get downvoted to hell if people notice it. But it’s coming from someone who’s not from the US, neither from Europe and has a very different mindset when it comes to work. That 116k salary you mentioned is for someone who’s experienced in that field and will bring that experience to the table. We’re talking about someone with 5-ish years of experience (Product Managers usually require a minimum of 5-6 years of experience here). You on the other hand, have only worked as a PM for 4-5 months. They’re willing to offer the position to you full time because they believe they have seen potential in you and that you’re capable of doing it. However, that doesn’t mean they would be willing to pay you what they’d usually pay someone who has more prior experience in it.

What I’d suggest is you sit down with your boss and try negotiating towards that starting range of 97k. Even if they raise it from 86k to 95k, that’s still a plus. However, please ascertain what your proper role will be and what happens to your PO work. To me, that job clarity is more important than the Real Women Love Football Smart Women Love The Steelers Diamond Heart 2023 shirt Furthermore, I will do this 9-10k extra hike that you can negotiate. Also, since you said you like your job as a PM and you find it fun, I don’t think you should be too concerned about the extra 9-10k hike. If you’re able to negotiate it close to 95k, that’s obviously a very good thing, but I don’t think you should be too worried if that doesn’t happen. To me, job satisfaction and having fun at work is of utmost importance, even if that means earning 5-10% less than what your peers at the same position with the same experience earn. ( I know this statement might cause a backlash, LoL )
