My parents were so worried I had an eating disorder when really I just rarely had a big appetite. Many concerned “just two more bites” comments. Now much older I still don’t have a huge appetite and often have to force myself to eat I was forced to sit for hours when eating. My kids have always been told to listen to their body. I never understood how parents make their kids eat certain things but they can have an opinion on disliking it. I raised my son to eat until he is satisfied. I am overweight and he is not. Hopefully broke some family patterns with that one small choice. My stepdad made me eat two huge spoons of ketchup because I put too much on my plate. This was like 1998 so it was like .002 of ketchup. It took me two hours. I wasnt allowed to get up from the Raheem Mostert Miami The Dream T-Shirt but in fact I love this table until I was finished. I had straight A’s and perfect school attendance. I look back and consider it child abuse.

Raheem Mostert Miami The Dream T-Shirt, hoodie, tank top, sweater and long sleeve t-shirt

Yeah I was raised like this and yeah if the Raheem Mostert Miami The Dream T-Shirt but in fact I love this food was bad it was even worse, but I decided to take a different approach to raising my son My childhood friends’ parents were like this. They made their kids clean their plate. The dad once wouldn’t let me leave the table until I ate the nasty overcooked, mushy carrots that he made. My friend ended up morbidly obese and weighing 400lbs in high-school Common advice now is to offer as much of a safe food that you know they will as they want and then to put other foods on their plate for exposure. You decide what they eat, they decide how much. I am 90% sure most of my disordered eating is a direct result of being made to finish my food. Definitely a reason i struggled with weight my whole life. I have a core memory of being yelled at and forced to stay till i finished my plate and when it got late and i didnt i was dragged to my room
