And they’re about to elect a clown expecting not to get a circus. It’s like the Quiet Riot Metal American heavy metal band founded in Los Angeles T-Shirt in other words I will buy this last five years didn’t teach them anything with Trump and Bolsonaro. Even the lame excuses to vote for Milei are the exact same. “I’m voting for an ‘outsider'”. “Things are so bad they can’t get worse”. “The current government is corrupt so I’ll vote for a complete lunatic even though I have other candidates to choose”. Argentina’s issue is the same as Greece in the Eurozone. Mainly, it is hard to compete vs stronger economies when tariffs are reduced, and eventually the manufacturing as well as some crops are unsustainable to be produced locally instead of importing from a stronger economy neighbor. Brazil overshadows Argentina by far, with a population 5x bigger. You want to crop soybeans in Argentina? Good luck competing with Brazil’s much bigger area and population. You want to grow wheat in Argentina? It’s fine, Brazil doesn’t produce that much wheat due to its climate so Brazil could even end up importing some of that wheat, but whenever Brazil gets a good wheat harvest, Argentina exports will plummet. You want to produce manufactures? Well, you need to ensure that your product is compliant with Brazilian norms because there are too many consumers there for your products, and not only that, but if at any point it’s cheaper to produce in Brazil, that manufacturing sector is gone.

The dictatorship back in the 70’s was tremendously corrupt, leaving the country with an unpayable debt that was soon after followed by the privatization of all our resources and State services.
