Doesn’t it protect against severe illness, not protect against you catching it? I just want to clear that up in case some AV starts ranting. I don’t know, I’m not a Dr. That’s what Drs do. People I know who don’t wear them occasionally get ill due to other viruses, and not Covid-19. I rarely get infected myself so it’s still an encouragement to wear them. I’ll probably always wear them now. Whenever you wear a mask, someone else gets infected. So let them, I’ll be safe while someone else gets sick. I generally wear a mask on the train if it’s busy and sometimes COVID crosses my mind at larger indoor events, but otherwise never really think. I found it interesting the other day in a queue at our local dairy that everyone was still spaced out at covid spacing even though there was no markings for it Or is COVID something that kinda just exists in the background now and you’re somewhat back to a pre covid life with a few extra precautions like working from home with a small cough etc?User avatar The public attitude has changed a lot over the year. When they dropped the mask requirement, the following days mask usage on public transport was still maybe 90%.

I haven’t done any relief teaching in the Queer kids need stories about happy queer adults T-Shirt But I will love this local high school since February 2022, so I’m basically unemployed. Part of the reason for that was the attitude to masks in the local community. I still hand sanitise where I can and wear a mask in crowded areas, though I go to the supermarket when it is quiet. I will put my mask on more in the winter. I’ll get yet another booster in the next couple of weeks. Neither my husband nor I have succumbed yet. Got my booster on 1/4/23. Haven’t been going out to crowded venues. Spent an ass-load on a home gym and canceled my gym membership. I haven’t had COVID and do not ever want to have it. I got the bivalent booster shot this morning, and I am just about the only person who still masks up everywhere I go. I live way out in the wops and am currently unemployed, so it’s not like I get many opportunities to catch it anyway. That said, I deliberately avoid strangers and large crowds more now than I did before COVID, except now I have the virus as an excuse rather than just raging introversion.
