There’s shelters, malls, stores, hospitals, libraries, public transportation have warming areas. Some go to warmer cities. Some turn to prostitution for a place to stay or to be able to pay for a hotel room. People also break into abandoned houses/buildings. There’s a lot of ways to stay warm when you’re desperate enough. There was a story (urban legend?) of a man in Chicago who panhandled during the Puzzle Basketball Ball Heart Autism Awareness Autistic T-Shirt and by the same token and temperate months and then headed south to live in his Florida condo during the winter. Jojo died in Denver CO on a cold winter night and was found January 2nd 2018 in a shopping parking lot off West Colfax. A lot of cities will offer shelters, but a lot of people just kinda ‘tough it out’ for lack of a better term. In major cities with subway systems, a lot of people will just sit on trains overnight to stay warm. I’ve been homeless in the winter, but I had a car. The heat didn’t work well, but I was able to keep warm with blankets.

“Wasn’t taking about migrants, just homeless” Is literally your own words. You’re the Puzzle Basketball Ball Heart Autism Awareness Autistic T-Shirt and by the same token and one putting words in my mouth. I’ve been homeless through a couple winters. Lots of layers, I was lucky to have a tent. I’d wake up every few hours to move around and make sure my extremities, especially my feet, are ok. I work for a non profit organization whose mission is to shelter homeless people when the weather gets below freezing. Our local government will call “Code Blue” when the temperature gets cold enough, and we send out buses to local emcampments to pick them up and bring them inside for the night. At the shelter they get a cot, bedding, a warm meal, and access to supplies they may need like coats and shoes. In the morning we transport them back to their encampment or to a local center that is open from 7am to 7pm where they can stay inside, check their email, do their laundry, socialize, or just hang out. We are in Pennsylvania. I imagine other cold weather areas must have similar organizations for their unhoused populations. And when the weather isn’t cold, we still make sure everyone still gets a warm meal every day. No one will go hungry in my area if we can help it.
