When they reopen indoor dining, here’s how they want to do it: “Recently, we’ve all had these incredible small dinners at friend’s homes. Why not recreate a similar vibe here by offering private dinners for 15-person groups? Why not make a really cool, safe space for someone in a way you can’t really do elsewhere…because people are hesitant to hang out with strangers?” says co-partner Ashwin Deshmukh.

Essentially, they want indoors to be an event space. They reason that instead of offering seating for, say, 10 two-person groups—all unrelated parties that require different forms and six-feet-apart spacing—it will be a better, and safer, experience, if it’s entirely reserved for a larger pod of family or friends. They’ll provide a dedicated waitstaff, a customized menu and cocktails, and even, muses Deshmukh, perhaps a surprise performer. They might even try to put a playful spin on PPE requirement—Deshmukh personally sourced his own astronaut helmet. (“We want the Promoted to NE-MA New Nonni MomGrandma to be T-Shirt What’s more,I will buy this vibe to be Señor Frogs meets Raoul’s,” Granoff half-jokes.) The dinners will be priced per person.
