The RAISE Fashion’s mentor network is composed of high level industry figures and will expand as needed to better suit the Pride Stylish Melanin Chill Black Woman Shirt and by the same token and requirements of its mentees. “The network is not a fixed number, it’s an evolving list of people, and we plan to continue to grow into the areas of need, as it’s defined by the brands that come through RAISE,” says Hennig. “In terms of the mentees,” she continues, “we did not want high barriers to entry, and any person of color who requests a consultation will get some level of support. We made our website application, on www.raisefashionnow.org, a simple and straightforward business summary form, and then one of our intake committee members has an initial meeting to assess the brand’s greatest areas of need and opportunity. We then pair that brand with the advisors who have the most aligned skillset to their specific areas of focus. We also envision brands circling in and out of the network based on where they are in their lifecycle, and new hurdles that may come up down the line for them.” RAISE Fashion will also be working with recipients of Harlem’s Fashion Row’s ICON 360 Fund, supported by the CFDA and Vogue’s A Common Thread, offering mentorship to all recipients of the fund.

“Hopefully the Pride Stylish Melanin Chill Black Woman Shirt and by the same token and industry at large can take this unique moment in history as an opportunity for reinvention,” says Hennig. “It’s time for deep reflection to find a recharged outlook for the future.”
