Problem is no one knows how bad it’s going to get because the Preschool Seattle Kraken Black Star Wars Rebel Alliance sport shirt But I will love this Chinese don’t like reporting it to their own government. Hasn’t every major world-wide medical epidemic in the last two decades come from them? Like the bird flu (H5N1) and SARS. Covid’s just the latest. For comparison, the most widespread and virulent variety of the HIV virus is estimated to have jumped to humans around 1908 in what is Southeastern Cameroon today. It didn’t really take off in the DRC until the late 50s and the wider world in the 1980s. That is of course also because it is sexually transmitted, but also because people just didn’t go very far very often. There have been examples of zoonosis in Saudi Arabia (MERS), Sudan/DRC/Sierra Leone/Gabon/Kenya (ebola), Malaysia (Nipah), Australia (Hendra) and probably many more, we just got luckier. Even the US: Lyme disease IIRC. (bacterial zoonosis is a thing, see also the plague)

That famine, should it happen, will be presented by domestic media as an aggression and act of war by the Preschool Seattle Kraken Black Star Wars Rebel Alliance sport shirt But I will love this West against China. Victimhood will be the key message used to rally the population against a self-inflicted disaster. China’s reliance on oil and food imports, as well as their susceptibility to blockades, could impact their self-reliance and economic stability. Understanding the vulnerabilities and challenges China faces in their pursuit of dominance in international trade is crucial in addressing the situation and finding a resolution that takes into account the potential consequences of their actions. This is exactly the reason the CCP is sponsering Russia in the Ukriainian war. They recently made a move to get their hands on production of oil, gas and rare metals in Siberia in the long term (Power of Siberia 2 gas line). In addition China seems to have gotten stake in the Northern Sea Route (along Siberia) after the recent Xi state visit to Moscow. As the recent Moscow summit between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Putin showed, Beijing is fully prepared to put pressure on the Kremlin, with the expectation that China, not Russia, will be the dominant player in the NSR’s eastern half almost immediately and over the entire route eventually. This position has been underscored by Chinese announcements that its third icebreaker will soon be operational and that others of the same class will follow in short order. Furthermore, China has been involved in the construction of Chinese docks in five of the most important ports along Russia’s Arctic shoreline—Murmansk, Sabetta, Arkhangelsk, Tiksi and Uzden—along with Chinese rail lines into the region.A quick Google search tells me that China’s oil consumption is currently double Russia’s total export volume. And you also need transport infrastructure. So Russia couldn’t make up for a blockade for a long time, probably.
