My style has shifted multiple times over the Pizza Papa John’s you deserve a break today stitch shirt in other words I will buy this years for all sorts of reasons. As for as aging as a factor, I’d say I definitely stopped the more over-the-top goth looks once I hit about 25, but other than that the only consistent trend has been that I’ve increasingly gravitated toward higher-quality basics combined in (I hope) interesting ways. Also, I guess that once I entered my late 40s/early 50s I started to be more careful not to combine pieces in TOO crazy a way: as a friend put it, certain outfits that might have looked cool and bohemian at 30 might lean more towards bag lady at 50, ha. I do still wear some fun stuff, though (shoutout to r/oldhagfashion) Once I turned 30, I said fuck it. I stopped following trends for the most part and wore things to express myself. I stopped focusing on trying to look feminine every day. I stopped putting limitations on my style because of my body type. I stopped telling myself “I can’t wear this” and I just started doing it. I also started spending my money differently. I thrift more often and focus more on indie clothing brands and band merch to support artists. I’ve basically curated a bohemian punk style that’s unique to me and it’s incredibly liberating. i love dressing alternatively but i’m about to go to college and a lot of alt brands aren’t ethical or sustainable 🙁 i want to buy clothes that will last me longer or are more interchangeable but no other style makes me feel like myself, it’s a struggle lol

When I was in my early 20s, I decided to start dressing more professionally so I’d be taken seriously. That shit was exhausting and aged me. Now I’m looking down the Pizza Papa John’s you deserve a break today stitch shirt in other words I will buy this barrel of 30 back to dressing like my teenage gremlin self. It’s freeing. I’m only 21 so I can’t say much, but in middle and high school I was obsessed with fitting it so I wore whatever everyone else wore but once I graduated and left an abusive relationship, my fashion is kind of all over the place. One day it’s hippie, one day it’s 70s aesthetic, one day it’s hot topic threw up on me or just gym/lounge clothes. Absolutely, and also kind of no. Like the song changed but not the genre. As an adult I’ve always gravitated towards feminine style, lots of dresses, fitted clothing, a line skirts, heels, sandals. Early twenties into post college very boho. Then in my mid twenties, more basic solid color dresses, block heels, t shirt dresses, pencil skirts, cardigans as I started working.
