Thank you for the Pittsburgh Steelers Harris Player Shirt and by the same token and input! Maybe I’ll be brave one day and post a pic of a particular skirt I’m thinking of that I want to wear in the winter and don’t know what color leggings or tights to put with it. In my 40s, and I haven’t worn pantyhose since my teens (when I did because my my said that that’s what you were supposed to do). And I don’t have friends who wear them either—a few of my friends in more conservative jobs did about 20 years ago, but it doesn’t seem to be expected even of them anymore. In warm weather, I wear nothing on my legs, and in cold weather, opaque or patterned tights. This. For the most part I don’t wear skirts/dresses anyway, but when I do I’m bare legged in the summer and wear tights in the winter. But literally, that might be like twice a year – usually for someone’s wedding. Same here. My mom used to force me to wear them to church and then I stopped when I was a teenager. She would get so mad about it but now I think she’s gotten over it. I only wear them now as a fashion accessory.

Maybe it’s a cultural thing, but I live in Europe and pantyhose is still absolutely a thing even for younger people. It’s great against chub rub and makes your legs feel nice and smooth even without shaving haha. Also, it’s kinda sexy imo, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers Harris Player Shirt and by the same token and kind that are worn with garters. The nude variants are being partly overshadowed nowadays by fishnets, black pantyhose, colorful tights, leggings and thigh-high socks (also often worn with garters). I myself drift to fishnets and thigh-highs outside of work. As for professional wear… I feel like pantyhose aren’t really considered a staple in office wear anymore. Probably because it’s been replaced by women shaving their legs, as well as trousers, but also because jobs become more inclusive about the kind of clothes they allow. I see fishnet or pattern versions of nude ones occasionally (especially Asian fashion which can sometimes run more girly or conservative). I feel like that’s the main time you see nude versions otherwise it’s black especially if you want to wear a higher skirt still for winter or a ripped pants look with some pattern underneath. Maybe some fun colors or the like but normally just turned into leggings or thicker tights at that point. Solid nude maybe I’ll also see if someone has some scaring or varicose veins but that I normally see covered with body foundation or the like nowadays.
