I estimated the initial gold disc at 20cm by 1mm, which gives a volume of about 30ml, for a mass of just over 600g. Without trying to tot up the volume and hence weight of all the other parts, that does make an estimate of 1kg look very feasible. On reflection, I disagree with you about the relative volume of material in this teapot compared to a ceramic one, and also disagree about the density difference between porcelain and gold – which is more like ~7x. And both of those disagreements cancel, so I agree with you, my friend.
